SquadCoders API & Studio Operations Engine

High-performance Go REST API built with Chi and Huma v2, featuring pure-Go SQLite persistence, RFC 9457 Problem Details error handling, constant-time authentication, and automated pure-Go PDF document generation.

The Challenge

Digital studio operations require backend infrastructure capable of processing client proposals, generating cryptographically verified invoices, and serving authenticated webhook payloads without the memory overhead and cold-start latency of bulky enterprise runtimes.

Studio operations typically face distinct bottlenecks:

  1. Heavy Runtime Overhead: Traditional CMS backends consume significant baseline memory (250MB+) and introduce unpredictable garbage collection pauses.
  2. Error Serialization Inconsistencies: Ad-hoc JSON error payloads break frontend client parsing during edge-case validation failures.
  3. CGO Portability Hazards: Native SQLite bindings requiring C toolchains complicate containerized deployment across Alpine and scratch images.
  4. Fragile Headless PDF Engines: Rendering PDF invoices through headless Chromium instances drains system resources and introduces crash loops under concurrent load.

[Pure-Go SQLite Engine] [Pure-Go PDF Compiler]

1. Type-Safe Go Architecture with Huma v2 & Chi

Engineered the REST API using Chi router and Huma v2. The system automatically derives OpenAPI 3.1 specifications directly from Go struct definitions, ensuring complete synchronization between documentation and runtime serialization with zero reflection overhead in hot paths.

2. RFC 9457 Problem Details Compliance

Standardized all API exceptions around the RFC 9457 Problem Details specification. Validation errors, authentication rejections, and resource conflicts return structured HTTP problem models with URI error types, titles, statuses, and granular field-level violation pointers.

3. Pure-Go Zero-CGO SQLite Persistence

Integrated modernc.org/sqlite to achieve 100% pure-Go SQLite persistence without CGO requirements. The database operates in Write-Ahead Logging (WAL) mode with busy timeouts and foreign key enforcement, enabling single-binary static deployments to Alpine and scratch containers.

4. Constant-Time Authentication & Cryptographic Safety

Implemented API key validation using crypto/subtle.ConstantTimeCompare to eliminate timing attack vectors on protected studio routes. Sensitive client credentials are encrypted at rest with authenticated AES-GCM envelopes.

5. Deterministic Pure-Go PDF Generation

Developed an in-memory document generation pipeline compiling studio proposals and tax invoices directly into PDF binaries using pure Go. This eliminated external headless browser dependencies and cut invoice compilation time to under 18ms.
